Together Liverpool are looking for an experienced Executive Director to oversee their operations, functions and activities. You will be the face of the organisation, responsible for team leadership, strategic direction and implementing a high-quality value led vision.

Salary Scale: £35-40k pa (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5hrs (negotiable)
Accountable to: Director of Social Justice/ Chair of Trustees
Office Base: Working remotely from home, other suitable venues for training events and a hot desk in St James House
We are looking for an experienced Executive Director to oversee all operations, functions and activities. You will be the face of the organisation, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high-quality value led vision.
An excellent Executive Director is an influential manager with ability to lead and motivate. They have great communication skills and take a holistic and agile approach in managing the organisation’s operations.
Trustees have articulated our values and purpose - we now need a collaborative leader who can manage and lead the charity to take the next step toward the realisation of its mission to establish the Network of Kindness across the geographical area of the Diocese of Liverpool.
The Together Liverpool Executive Director will lead a small lead of highly skilled social justice practitioners under the oversight of a group of experienced Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector trustees. You will need to be comfortable speaking to volunteers, community and faith leaders as well as having a heart for social justice. We are a charity that is at the heart of a network of people, charities and churches who want to see real social change happen. You will need to have experience of working at a strategic level and be able to speak truth to power.
Key responsibilities include
- Develop and implement strategies aiming to promote the organisation’s mission and “voice”
- Create complete business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set by the board of trustees
- Building an effective team of social leaders by providing guidance and coaching to colleagues
- Ensure adherence of the organisation’s daily activities and long-term plans to established policies and legal guidelines
- Direct and oversee current assets (people and financial) and fundraising efforts in order to ensure sustainability
- Forge and maintain relations of trust with funders, partners and charities that share similar values
- Act as a public speaker and public relations representative of Together Liverpool in ways that strengthen its profile
- Review reports by colleagues to acquire an overview of the current work and how this might be developed
- Lead on monitoring, measuring and evaluation of outcome and outputs
- Devise remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management when necessary
- Act as a senior leader in the efforts to develop sustainable, affordable responses to Poverty and Life chances in the geographical area of the Diocese of Liverpool. Being the voice of Together Liverpool and acting as an advocate for our communities and those on the margins.
